Winners of this year’s Innovation Showcase at Venturefest Bristol 2012 include a super-lightweight electric aeroplane that will be attempting a world record next year and a speed boat that can transform into a streamlined submersible. The innovations, all developed by young entrepreneurial companies, will be on display at Venturefest Bristol 2012 on 7th November at the UWE Conference Centre.

More than 30 companies have been chosen to showcase their innovations and the technologies on display cover a wide range of industries – biotech, robotics, manufacturing, electronics, energy, software and gaming. All the innovations have been developed by start-up companies which are looking for funding or collaborators to help take their ideas forward.

“The quality and quantity of the applications we received for the Innovation Showcase provides a real demonstration of the strength of the Bristol city region as a location for high-tech business starts,” said Lorelei Hunt, Director of Science City Bristol, organisers of the event. “Last year, showcase winners told us that they made valuable contacts with business advisors and investors at the event. We expect that real business will result from the contacts made and conversations started at Venturefest Bristol 2012.”
